Drainage in Churches & Graveyards

In this article we look at some of the challenging environments we have to work in which led us to a drainage in churches job.

As Drainage Contractors we are often asked ask for advice on related topics. This has led to us working in interesting associated areas. One of which, took us to an interesting job of working on a church and graveyard.

This type of works means extra care is needed due to the age of the properties, the personal significance for individuals of some of the areas we are working in such as near graves. We also need to be flexible enough to work around very difficult times for people, for example during burial services.

Our work to date has included dealing with water leaks on a Victorian system that is used to supply standpipes for vases of flowers on graves, confirming the layout of a graveyards’ drainage as the old records had been lost, pumping out chambers to find where drainage runs to and advising on dealing with rainwater and surface water.

We always take pride in our work and are always careful and considerate to the impact around us. On jobs like these, we take that level of care one step further, even if it means the job takes us longer than the quote!
